In the division 7 race Hasyurt – Gökbük, Lonzo Aguilar (one of Team Extra Clean TUE`s many mountain specialists in training) powered to the first breakaway victory for the team. He and two other riders managed to carve out a comfortable gap. But when it came to nut-cutting time, the Cuban emerged as the strongest. In doing so, he propelled Team Extra Clean TUE into division six, netting a 20 k bonus from the Cuban authorities, who were very pleased once again.
After the race, the delighted team manager Fidel Upmann said:„With the great revolutionary spirit of the breakaway rider, Lonzo did his country justice! He is a guerrilla on the bike!“
In making the jump to division six and the season being far from over, the team‘s season goal of making it to division five appears to be well within reach. As far as additional season goals go, Fidel Upmann had the following to say: „We are in the process of building up a team for flat stages as well, which is slowly but surely taking form. For the time being, the emphasis is still on our mountain guys, who are almost all in the training camp right now. The meager price money by the OCM capitalists forces our hand to prioritize. I of course, would prefer a more communist approach: Train everybody in everything at once!“
Passionate and opinionated as usual, Fidel Upmann from there went into a rant on cycling being marketed by idiots, football being overrated, doping being nothing but a propagandistic conspiracy, the refreshing scent of Mr. Clean and how his latest box of would-be premium cigars had three cigars in it, that were tunneling. …… Three! Of course, he blamed the capitalists for the latter, for they no doubt are the driving forced behind the rushed production of Cuban cigars.
